What is Forest Therapy About?
Forest Therapy is one of the most beautiful ways to create a calmer, healthier and better connected you! Shinrin-Yoku inspired Forest Therapy is a slow, guided walk in nature that awakens every sense, calms the mind, and produces more joy, creativity, curiosity and healthy solutions. Shinrin-Yoku inspired forest therapy has been studied by scientists since the 1980s. Health benefits include lower blood pressure, boosted immune system, increased cancer-fighting proteins (natural killer cells), reduced stress hormones and improved mental health. Scientists have discovered that 2 hours of forest therapy can increase the number of natural killer cells by 40% and it will remain boosted for a week. Furthermore, 2 hours of forest therapy for 3 consecutive days can boost your immunity by 50% and the level remains increased for 30 days.

About Haida Bolton -
Forest Therapy Guide & Reflexologist
For 30 years Haida connected children and nature together through Youth Camps in British Columbia and Africa, Roots & Shoots Clubs and Eco-Kidz Forest Parties. In 2015, while grieving her marriage separation among the towering trees, cascading creeks and beautiful bays of Pender Harbour, Haida learned about a growing practice called Shinrin Yoku (Japanese for Forest Bathing), also known as Forest Therapy in North America. In November 2016, Haida became British Columbia’s first Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs, and now connects all ages with nature to create a happier and healthier world. With a Bachelor of Science Degree and Certificates also in Reflexology and Wilderness First Aid, Haida feels passionate about her calling. Haida looks forward to connecting with you!
Haida will be hosting the forest therapy retreats as your forest therapy guide, as well as conducting the reflexology sessions.
