Swimming

Ruby Lake boasts some of the clearest and warmest waters on the Sunshine Coast - ideal for swimming! We have a private dock available to our guests for taking a plunge, sunbathing, or tying up their boat, and enjoying the pristine waters of this jewel of the coast.
There is also a municipal park, Dan Bosch Park, a short jaunt away, with a sandy beach ideal for children and families, walking trails through beautiful old growth trees exploring the waters edge, as well as picnic tables and grassy areas.
For the more adventurous, there are plenty of other places on the lake where one can enjoy a swim, on the hidden shores, accessed by rough hiking trails, or on one of the many islands, accessed by boat.

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding

Ruby Lake is ideal for this popular sport - with many channels and bays to explore, and crystal clear warm waters. Bring your own board if you are staying with us, or rent one/some of ours.

Rental boards are available at $25/hour, for guests and passer-throughs alike.

Life jackets are included with all rentals.

Please note that this year due to the lengthy sanitization process in place with the lifejackets, lifejacket availability can be limited. If you have your own lifejackets we highly recommend and appreciate you bringing them along. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Power Boating & Water-Skiing

Have a power boat of you own? Ruby Lake is the perfect place to launch and explore! There is a free public boat launch less than 2 minutes drive from our resort, and we have tie-up space on our dock for our guests use. Ruby's clean, deep, warm, waters, and picturesque setting make it the perfect place to spend the day.

Fishing

Ruby Lake is home to Kokanee and Cutthroat Trout. All cutthroats have large mouths and a maxillary that extends back past the back of the eye. They are silver in color and heavily spotted with small black spots covering the majority of its flanks with its most recognizable characteristic being the red-orange slashes beneath the lower jaw.

Be sure to obtain a fresh water fishing license and to bring your fishing gear should you intend to fish on the lake.
